(Columbus, OH) - Dr. Sharon Schindler will put her cosmetic dentistry talents to work for a good cause by hosting a SMILE Day on Saturday, August 14 from 10am to 2pm. All proceeds for teeth whitenings will be donated directly to the national W.I.N. (Women in Need) campaign for women dealing with domestic abuse.
Dr. Schindler is one of many dentists across the nation, but the only dentist in Ohio, to participate in this national teeth-bleaching campaign. The offer is extended to current clients and the general public alike, the cost is $200, made payable to the W.I.N. Foundation and is tax deductible. The teeth whitening features pre-filled adaptable, disposable whitening trays. People interested in participation in the SMILE Day program can come to Schindler Dentistry at 226 W. Olentangy Street in Powell anytime between 10am and 2pm on the SMILE Day to be pre-screened and given instructions on the whitening system by Dr. Schindler and her team.
"Unfortunately, abuse affects one in four women," said Dr. Schindler. "These are very disturbing statistics and I believe that programs like W.I.N. can help to reduce those statistics. That's why we are encouraging our current clients and anyone who would like a brighter smile to get our teeth whitening system on August 14, they'll feel better about their smile and about contributing directly to a worthy cause."
W.I.N. is a non-profit outreach for abuse recovery and offers a 20-week abuse recovery program for women, men and children called "Right Living". The W.I.N. Foundation was started by Mrs. Globe, 1996, Dr. Tracy Kemble, who was a victim of domestic abuse herself. Dr. Kemble has since taken over the Mrs. Globe Pageant and has used it as a vehicle to fund worldwide outreach to help abolish domestic abuse. In turn, the Mrs. Globe Pageant has been transformed into the largest international pageant for married women in the world.
For her continuing efforts on behalf of W.I.N., Dr. Schindler recently received the "Mrs. Ohio Globe Dentist of the Year" award. Dr. Schindler is among one of the top two percent of dentists nationwide who have undergone extensive training in aesthetic and neuromuscular dentistry from the world renowned Las Vegas Institute.
